Breaking Through Limiting Mindsets: My Journey and Lessons Learned

Breaking Through Limiting Mindsets: My Journey and Lessons Learned

Mindset can be one of the biggest barriers to success.

Lately, I've found myself battling limiting beliefs that I know have been holding me back. Even though I know exactly what I need to do for my brands, I’ve been putting things off for weeks.

The doubts creep in..

Will this work?

Should I be doing something else?

Can I really help all these women relying on my skills?

And yet, deep down, I know I was born to do this. I was born to think differently, to push boundaries where others won’t.

I’ve created a brand that has helped over 17,000+ people.

So many women reach out to me for advice and direction, and helping them feels natural and effortless.

So why am I getting in my own head?

These doubts run through my mind daily, fueling anxiety—and then nothing happens.

My to-do list grows, but I don’t tick things off. I feel scattered and overwhelmed.

The Impact of Limiting Beliefs

When my mindset isn’t right, my brand suffers.

I’ve noticed that I focus on the immediate tasks rather than the bigger picture—the growth and expansion of myself and my brands.

As women, we’re often juggling a hundred things at once. It’s overwhelming.

But when I let those feelings take over, I can see the impact in my decision-making and productivity.

Instead of taking those big, bold steps, I get stuck in the small, urgent tasks.

Overcoming Adversity - How I’ve Done It Before

When I was 18 and pregnant, I faced the scariest moment of my life.

I was told that if I kept my baby, I would never amount to anything.

But then, my Granddad stepped in.

He was my biggest supporter, and his unwavering belief in me put me on this path.

I admired him more than anyone, and when he passed away, I was heartbroken.

But I always carry with me the love, laughter, and happiness he shared with my Grandma. I wanted that same kind of life.

So, I chose to have my baby, and I decided that my circumstances would not define my destiny.

I would create my own.

And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the past 20 years.

Shifting My Mindset - Seeking Support

Now, as I face these more recent limiting beliefs, I know that I don’t have to do it alone. I rely on my support circle—my husband, my mum, my sisters, my mother-in-law, and my closest friends.

They know me better than I know myself, and they can see when I’m close to breaking.

Each person offers something different, and by leaning on them, I’ve been able to start shifting my mindset, slowly, day by day. Small steps.

Advice for Overcoming Limiting Beliefs

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or held back by your own limiting beliefs, remember that you don’t need all the answers.

When your thoughts are running a thousand miles an hour, the best thing you can do is ask for help.

Talk to the people who know you and care for you—they will often know you better than you know yourself.

They’ll help you through the tough times.

You need to talk about it.

Talk about the fears that are holding you back, because once you get them out into the open, they lose some of their power.

I’ve learned that even conversations with strangers can boost your confidence and self-esteem.
